Kinesiology
Touch For Health is a form of kinesiology that restores
the body to its natural state of health. Developed in the early
1970s by Dr John Thie, Touch For Health is internationally recognised
as the fundamental training concepts for kinesiology.
Touch for Health/Kinesiology is a very powerful tool
that combines non-invasive muscle monitoring and feedback system
with traditional theories of Traditional
Chinese Medicine to evaluate energy (meridian flow) and body
function. This helps to identify imbalances in the body’s structural,
chemical and emotional energy to establish the body’s priority healing
needs. Kinesiology’s premise is that the body has an innate healing
energy and is always repairing and caring for itself, but sometimes
it needs to be helped along to achieve this care. Kinesiology does
not treat or diagnose conditions. It is concerned with the imbalances
in the body’s energy. Some areas used for relief are: injury and
emotional trauma, unresolved stress, fatigue and tiredness.
Ultimately, Kinesiology relies upon the muscle feedback
system that measures how the nervous system controls its muscle
functions and the channels of the brain and body. In this way, it
helps the body into a better position to heal itself or reach a
specified goal by "balancing" its energies. It is thought
that all stress, imbalances and blockages in the nervous system
can be detected by testing the tension in certain muscles.
